Le vignoble du domaineThe vineyards of the Millet estate extend over 4 villages : Viviers, Chichéee, Poilly sur Serein and Béru. |
|
ViviersFounded in 1127 under the name of "Vivariensis Ecclesian", the fiefdom of Viviers , was built by Seigneur de Pacy of Armançon, a village situated several kilometers away. In the mere center of "Petit Pontigny" in Chablis, is found a magnificent heavy press dating back to 17th century, coming from Viviers. This proves the importance of the vineyard at that time.Viviers is the town in which our vines are located to produce our Chablis (Les Vontenelles, Vignes des Craies, Porte de Béru and Sous les Plantes; around 2ha 60). |
ChichéeDating back to the 7th century and known tby the name of "Cachiniacum", this village was built by the diocese of Troyes. Its vineyard extends over the two sides of the Vallée du Serein and produces the reknown wines : Petit Chablis, Chablis and of course, the Premiers Crus (Vaucoupin, Vosgros and Vaugiraut). It is in this town that our parcel of Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin (1ha 02) is located. |
Poilly sur SereinFounded in 1116 under the name of Poelleyum, this was the fiefdom of the Count of Tonnerre. This 150 ha vineyard spans the Petit Chablis and Chablis appellations. Our estate owns one continuous parcel of Petit Chablis over a surface of 9ha 093. |
BéruThe diocese of Langres gave the land of Béru to the Abbey of Pontigny. During the 12th century, Béru belonged to Moines de Noyers. Our "Chablis Fût de Chênes" owns the oldest vine and comes from a parcel called Sur les Fontaines (0ha 38) and we also produce Chablis (0.58 ares) in this village. |
